Function: It is the main interface of the 3500 rack and supports proprietary protocols for configuring the rack and retrieving mechanical information. Supports compatible Bently Nevada external communication processors such as TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX. For Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) applications, the 3500 system requires a TMR version of RIM, which performs "monitoring channel comparison" in addition to standard RIM functionality.

Although RIM provides some general functionality for the entire framework, it is not a part of the critical monitoring path and has no impact on the correct and normal operation of the entire monitoring system. Each framework requires a framework interface module.
