Galvanized coil is defined as cold rolled carbon steel sheet coated with zinc on both sides.
Zinc coating is considered to be one of the most effective and economical method of protecting base steel from a corrosive environment and severe weather change.
Zinc is more durable than pure steel according to chemical activity. Zinc is stable in dry air. If humid air, Zinc Carbonate will be formed as protection outside. Besides, zinc layer also sacrifices itself as a damage protection for the base steel sheet.

The core procedure of galvanizing process is putting the carbon steel sheet into the molten zinc pot, about 450 Celsius degree, then a zinc layer film adhere to the base carbon steel sheet. It's produced by the continuous hot dipping galvanizing process. So it's technically called hot dipped galvanized steel coil or sheet;

Decoiling - Cleaning - Annealing - Zinc pot -Air knife - Cooling Tower - Straightening and Passivation - Post-treatment - Recoiling
Detailed Steps Of The Galvanized Steel Sheet Processing
Step 1:
Pre-treatment: When the cold rolled coil arrives at the workshop,firstly going through the uncoiler machine, through the degreasing section and the reduction furnace, the steel coil surface is cleaned and the components are adjusted to the proper ratio for the next galvanizing procedure.
Step 2:
Core section: The uncoiled steel sheet goes into the molten zinc pot. After the zinc pot, dense zinc layer adhere to the surface of the steel sheet. Then it is cooled and shaped by the cooling tower.
Step 3:
Post-processing: The steel sheet comes into the post-processing stage. Going through procedures including finishing, straightening and passivation, finally recoiling. At this point, the well known silver shining galvanized steel coil is done.
Spangle:
Galvanization or galvanizing is the process of applying a protective zine coating to the the base steel sheet,to prevent mechanical damage and corrosion.The size of zinc crystalline grain on galvanized coating surface is a visible and constant feature,which is known as "spangle". Different spangle types differs not only on appearance, but also on mechanical property, which is also classified for different application, as shown in the below chart:

water proof paper is inner packing, galvanized steel or coated steel sheet is outer packing , side guard plate , then wrapped by seven steel belt .
Fully strong export package suitable for ocean transportation, packed in waterproof paper/plastic foil, steel envelopes,strapped with metal bands, min 4 bands horizontal, 3 bands longitudinal.Add carton or steel sleeve in necessary.
1.4 widthwise bands and 4 longitudinal bands outside steel coil;
2.corrugated galvanized steel strip on inner and outer edges;
3.galvanized steel sheet and Kraft paper as the side wall protection.
4.galvanized steel sheet and Kraft paper wrapped around circumference and bore as protection.

Thickness test: measuring accurate thickness of the plate by vernier caliper
Width test: measuring coil width by band tape
Zinc coating test: measuring zinc thickness by special apparatus, applying ultrasonic wave technology.
Impact test: measuring steel plate extending ratio
Bending test: measuring plate bending property
