Functional features:
Communication Interface and Protocol: Supports RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 communication interface standards, complies with Modbus protocol (RTU mode), and can communicate with slave devices (such as programmable logic controllers, field I/O devices, etc.) that support these interface standards and Modbus protocol.
Data integration: capable of integrating Modbus slave device datasets into Foxboro Evo ™ In the control database of control processors (such as FCP280, FCP270/ZCP270, CP60) in process automation systems or I/A Series systems.

Flexible port configuration: There are four ports, each of which can be individually configured as RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485. Ports 1 and 2, as well as ports 3 and 4, can be configured as a single logical port for redundant communication cable connections to dual port Modbus devices. Each port has related configuration switches, such as RS-422 and RS-485 wiring with compression terminals and bus terminal resistors that can be selected through DIP switches. RS-232 wiring has a standard DB-25 male connector and a distribution group consisting of 24 DIP switches for wiring configuration.
Redundant communication support: It can accept communication from any path (A or B) of the redundant 2Mbps fieldbus. If one path fails or system level switches, the module continues to communicate through the active path.
