Errors detected by the user defined diagnostic functions, can be reported to the

system internal Error Handler by means of the Function Block ErrorHandler or

Control Module ErrorHandlerM. In this way it is possible to achieve a consistent

handling of all error types. The internal Error Handler functionality and

configuration possibilities are described in Controller Settings and Restrictions on

page 88.

Configuration Management

Procedures for Configuration Management shall be established and used during the

whole lifecycle of the application software.

Configuration Management comprise the running of an inventory list, showing the

version of all SIS hardware (AC 800M HI with all connected interface and I/O

modules) and software modules, as well as the version of all utility software like

Control Builder M Professional, 800xA Operator Workplace and other tools

utilized.

The following list is intended as input to the Configuration Management procedure:

• Identify the stage where formal configuration control shall be implemented

• Prevent unauthorized items (hardware and software) from entering service

• Tracking of changes resulting from observations and audits

• Tracking of work around and other temporary solutions

• Handling of revisions of input documentation
