Product Description
General grade polystyrene is a themoplastic resin ,colorless,odorless,tasteless and shiny,transparent beads or granular soild.Density 1.04-1.09,transparency 88%-92%,refractive index 1.59-1.60.Under the action of stress,birefringence occurs,which is called stress-optical effect.The melting temperature of the product is 150-180C°, the themal decomposition is 300C°, the themal deformation temperature is 70-100C°,and the long-term use temperature is 60-80C°.At 5-6C° lower than the themal deformation temperature,the stress,can be eliminated and the themal deformation temperature can be increased after annealing treatment .If a little a-methyI styrene is added in the production process,the heat resistance grade of universal polystyrene can be improved.

Application
Polystyrene has a broad application prospect in food packaging because of its transparent and excellent rigidity, electrical performance and printing performance, especially its good sanitation and low price. In the mechanical and electrical industry, instrumentation, communication equipment industry and other aspects has been widely used in a variety of instrument shell, lamp cover, optical parts, instrument parts, transparent window mirror, transparent model, chemical acid storage tank, acid conveying tank, telecommunications parts, high frequency capacitor, high frequency insulation pad, bracket, insert and frozen insulation materials. Also widely used in a variety of daily necessities, such as bottle caps, containers, decorations, buttons, combs, toothbrushes, soap boxes, cigarette boxes and toys, etc.
