Peeling potatoes is a very tedious and time consuming job, especially when you have to peel the large quantities of potatoes are needed in a professional kitchen every day. It can waste a lot of valuable time and money to do it by hand, over and over again, especially when it can be done better, faster, neater and more efficiently.
With a professional potato peeling machine, you can peel plenty of kilogrammes of potatoes in just two minutes. A potato peeling machine has a centrifuge in which the inside wall is covered with a coarse material that feels a bit like sandpaper. This material is called carborundum, or silicon carbide. At the bottom is a rotating disc, or peeling plate which is also covered with carborundum and helps make sure the potatoes remain in constant motion. Potatoes are peeled evenly after a minutes inside the centrifuge. On top is a water inlet so the vegetables are washed immediately and the scrapings are rinsed out to the drip tray at the bottom.
