WP Pure tungsten welding rods are basically unalloyed; it contain a minimum of 99.5% tungsten and has a very high work function. So arc starting becomes more difficult than other tungsten welding rod and keeping the stable arc are not easy and it has a shorter life since we weld the metals like aluminum and magnesium. However as known to all these welding rods are the most economical and are considered good for general purpose welding. We have to be noted that the pure tungsten welding rods can be only used in AC welding, however; better alternatives are available.
Pure tungsten Welding Rod is the one without any addition of oxide. The power of e electrode transgression is as high as 4.5ev. Requiring a high voltage for arc derivation; It has a low current capacity and is easily burnt. It is suitable for application under the condition of AC and in the situation of low welding requirement
