Introduction :
Coalescers are the first stage of filter waterseparators ( FWS ) which are used in the fueldistribution supply network . The flow direction isfrom in to out whereby the fuel moves through thepleated paper and any water is attracted to the polarfibres . When enough water has gathered on any onestrand the flow of fuel dislodges the water whichfalls to the FWS sump . Water can be extremelydangerous when found in aviation fuel , coalescersare therefore a crucial part of fuel filtration
Description.
Separators are constructed from an epoxy coated steel inner tube which is then covered with a separator screen. This screen can be made from either a Teflon coated Stainless Steel mesh or a synthetic plastic mesh. The end caps are made from glass fibre reinforced polyamide and are stamped according to the EI standards with date of manufacture and ID number. NBR (Buna-N) end seals are fitted.
