General Purpose Double-Strand Twisted 304 Stainless Steel and Galvanized Steel Barbed Wire
Production process of steel barbed wire:
There are three main types of barbed wire by production process: universal, reverse twisted braided and single stranded barbed wire.
Both universal and reverse twist types use a double-stranded core wire, with the barbed wire tightly wound around the double-stranded core wire, relying on the way they are wound around each other to limit the movement of the barbed wire position. Single strand barbed wire has only one core wire, with the barbed wire wrapped around a single core wire.
The difference between the universal and reverse twisted type is shown in the following diagram.
Production materials of steel barbed wire:
There are two main types by production material: stainless steel wire and metal coated steel wire.
Stainless steel wire has strong corrosion resistance, suitable for corrosive environments, high material costs, commonly used grades of 304 stainless steel wire. Metal coated steel wire cost low, through the reasonable choice of the type of plating and plating quality corrosion protection effect can also meet the requirements of use, by most projects and users recognized. According to the type of coating, metal coated steel wire can be divided into three categories: aluminum coated steel wire, galvanized steel wire and galvanized - 5% aluminum alloy wire. The galvanized steel barbed wire is suitable for most applicable environments and is commonly used.

Typical specifications for galvanized steel barbed wire are:
Material: galvanized steel wire
Strand diameter: 2.5 mm
Barbed wire diameter: 2.0mm
Barbed spacing: 75mm or 100mm
Amount of zinc on the strands: 85g/m2
Amount of zinc on barbed wire: 75g/m2
Weight per roll: 25kg (or specify the length of each roll, e.g. 300m/roll)
