As we all know, KN95 is the standard for protective masks in my country, which means that non-oily particles with a diameter of 0.3μm filter more than 95%. KF94 mask is a standard made in Korea. According to data from the official website of the Korean Food and Drug Administration (MFDS), the filtering rate of masks for particles with a diameter of 0.4 μm under this standard is greater than 94%. In other words, the KF94 standard mask can filter out at least 94% of particles with a diameter equal to 0.4μm. Therefore, KF94 is similar to KN95 and N95. It is a mask under the same protection level, but its protection capabilities are different.
Although this data is not very effective for directly filtering viruses, after all, the diameter of heart disease is only about 0.1μm, but it can effectively block the common carrier of viruses: droplets. The diameter of the droplets is generally between 1-4 microns. The filtering effect of the KF94 mask can prevent the droplets from directly contacting the human respiratory tract and prevent virus invasion.
However, since KF94 is not for medical standards, there is no relevant bacterial filtration rate standard during the production process. In addition, its outer material is the same as non-medical KN95 and N95 masks, and its splash resistance is not as good as medical masks. Once contaminated by droplets, there is still a risk if the mask is not replaced for a long time.
In fact, KF94 masks refer to masks that meet the KF94 filter standard. In other words, the KF94 standard mask can filter out at least 94% of particles with a diameter equal to 0.4μm.
