                           Adsorption principle of activated carbon

The adsorption of activated carbon can be divided into physical adsorption and chemical adsorption.

1  Physical adsorption

It mainly occurs in the process of removing impurities in liquid and gas phase by activated carbon. The porous structure of the active hair provides a large surface area, making it very easy to absorb and collect impurities. Like magnetism, all molecules have a gravitational pull on each other. Because of this, the large number of molecules on the wall of the activated carbon pore can generate a strong gravitational force, thus achieving the purpose of attracting impurities in the medium to the aperture.

2  In addition to physical adsorption, chemical reactions often occur on the surface of activated carbon. Activated carbon not only contains carbon, and in its surface contains a small amount of chemical binding, functional group form of oxygen and hydrogen, such as carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, phenols, lipids, quinones, ethers, etc. These surfaces contain geooxides or complexes that can react with the adsorbed material to combine with the adsorbed material and accumulate on the surface of the activated carbon.

The pollutants in the exhaust gas are adsorbed on the surface of the activated carbon to separate it from the gas mixture, and the purified gas is discharged at high altitude.
