Cylinder is usually seamless steel tube, inner hole processing to a high external brightness, can reduce internal friction and extend the life of the seals.Pistons, most of which are made of cast iron or steel, are fixed to the piston rod in a number of ways.Buffering is an option available on most cylinders and can often be added without changing the profile size.Piston rods are individual high strength steels, carburized, quenched, ground, polished and hard chrome plated for wear and corrosion resistance.Corrosive atmosphere conditions usually require stainless steel rods.The rod can be chromed to resist wear and tear.The guide sleeve supports the piston rod as it moves back and forth, most of which are made of ductile iron and usually can be removed without disassembling the entire cylinder.
