Inconel 600
Description:
Inconel 600 is a nonmagnetic, nickel-based, high-temperature alloy that exhibits high strength, excellent hot and cold workability, and high resistance to most forms of corrosion. This alloy also displays good resistance to heat, aging, and stress corrosion across the annealed to heavily-cold-worked condition range.
Nominal Chemical & Physical Properties

Cr: 15.8%
Fe: 7.2%
Minimum tensile strength: psi x 103 100-230
Design stress % minimum tensile: 40
Modulus of elasticity: psi x 106 31
Modulus in torsion: psi x 106 11.0
Maximum operating temperature: 700°F (371°C)
Rockwell hardness: C35-45
Heat Treating Inconel 600
Inconel 600 is delivered in pre-tempered condition; no further hardening can be achieved via heat treating. Depending on the needs of your application, completed custom springs and wire forms will undergo stress-relieving processes.
Manufacturing Custom Inconel 600 Springs & Wire Forms
Inconel 600 is cold drawn to the required temper. High nickel content gives the material excellent resistance to corrosion caused by many organic and inorganic compounds and makes it virtually immune to chloride stress-corrosion cracking.
