Introduction
Deep groove ball bearings are versatile, self-retaining bearings with solid outer rings, inner rings and ball and cage assemblies.
These products are of simple design, durable in operation and easy to maintain; they are available in single and double row designs
and and in open and sealed variants. Due to the production technology used, open bearings can still have turned recesses on the
outer ring for seals or shields. Due to their low frictional torque, they are suitable for high speeds.
Feature
Single row deep groove ball bearings are most frequently used bearing type. They are versatile, self-retaining bearings with solid
outer rings, inner rings and ball and cage assemblies. Due to their low frictional torque, they are suitable for high and even very high
speeds and are robust in operation, little maintenance. Due to the raceway geometry and the balls used as rolling elements, deep
groove ball bearings can support relatively high radial loads, as well as small axial loads.
Series
Bearings are supplied in an open, shielded (ZZ), or sealed (2RS) design. Many sizes are also available with a snap ring installed on
the bearing's outer ring.
Open bearings are supplied with a light oil coating and are used in oil bath and oil misting applications.
Sealed bearings are supplied with a contacting lip seal that excels in protecting the bearing from liquids and other foreign
contaminants. The inherent design creates friction, drag, and in turn heat; factors that require consideration in high speed
applications.
Shielded bearings are provided with non-contacting metal shields that protect against larger particles entering the bearing, but
do not protect against liquids. They add no friction during operation and therefore do not generate heat build-up.
Single row deep groove ball bearings come in three numerical series representing the size and load capacity of each. They are:
6000 Series - Extra Light Ball Bearings - Ideal for limited space applications
6200 Series - Light Series Ball Bearings - Balanced between space and load capacity
6300 Series - Medium Series Ball Bearings - Ideal for heavier load capacity applications....etc.
