Germanium glass has good light transmittance in 2-16um, and its chemical properties are relatively stable. It is not easy to react with metal oxides, acidic substances such as air and water. Infrared thermometer and thermal imager need medium and far infrared filters. Thermometer and thermal imager generally work in 2-13um band, while germanium glass has good transmittance in mid and far infrared. Ordinary optical glass transmittance in these bands is very low, so it is difficult to achieve. Adding optical thin film to germanium glass can greatly increase its transmittance and reduce the reflectivity of germanium glass surface. Germanium glass is impermeable in the visible band. In some thermal imagery, we can also use silicon crystal instead of germanium glass. The working band of silicon crystal is not as far as germanium glass. Silicon (Si) single crystal is a kind of chemical inert material with high hardness and insolubility in water. It has good light transmittance in 1-7 micron band. At the same time, it also has good transmittance performance in the far infrared band of 300-300 um, which is unique to other light-infrared materials. Points.
