S31254 super stainless steel, also known as 254SMO or high molybdenum 6Mo steel, was invented for Sweden Outokumpu. Due to its high resistance to chloride ion corrosion and higher cost-effectiveness than nickel-based alloys, it is widely used in seawater and various acidic environments. Representative industries include desulfurization industry, salt chemical industry and seawater treatment industry.
AlloyO has S31254 stock imported from Japan and Sweden, the inventory thickness is from 0.5-30mm. For special precision industry, it can process thinner foils.
Due to the certain N% element, the strength of S31254 is slightly higher than that of ordinary stainless steel, but the processing and welding performance is good.
