Thread protector are mainly used for steel pipe protection in loading, unloading, transportation and handling process. And they are also used for rubber hoses. Thread protectors can be divided into four kinds:
quick release thread protector, dismountable inflatable thread protector, integral inflatable thread protector and one-off thread protector.
The details of dismountable inflatable thread protector:
- Structure: it is composed of two parts: pneumatic tire and outer shell.
- Material: pneumatic tire is made from NBR, outer shell is made from polyurethane containing a steel shell, which is made from 20# steel or Q235.
- Size: 4-1/2" to 20".
- Working pressure: 0.5 MPa - 1 MPa (75 psi to 150 psi).
- Inflation time: 2 s to 10 s.
- Deflation time: 2 s to 13 s.
