The most common problem in tub mill strip preparing is coil set, and a flattener is the tool to remove it. In most of cases, flattener, also called leveling machine, is working right after uncoiler.
To remove positive coil set, SRET’s flattener bend the material over a series of rollers to induce compression on the top surface and tension in the bottom surface. The most common configuration for flatteners is an odd number of rolls. The flatteners at SRET Equipment are designed in form of five, seven, or nine rolls. Better than three-roll units where a continuous adjustment is normally required, five-roll or seven-roll flattener are less sensitive, providing a better leveling quality along with a easier thread-up. With an advanced design concept incorporated, when properly configured and powered, SRET Equipment’s flatteners can also induce enough yield strains to remove crossbow. By removing coil set and crossbow, our units eliminate apparent buckles and edge wave.
