1. Product Introduction

CAISON brand 8 series generic water based pigment paste is suitable for screen printing and tinting of non-apparel fabrics of cotton, linen, polyester, acrylic and various blended fabrics (Please check and use our CTH series eco-friendly pigment paste products if directly contacting with skin textile products needed). Also these liquid water based pigment paste can be used for tinting of other water based system materials, such as wood, paper, building coatings, cement, industrial detergents and so on. 8 series generic water based pigment paste is developed for the applications of non-apparel fabrics, including 36 colors in total, and complete chromatogram, covering almost the whole colors space (please check the 8 series color swatch). We can design and prepare the special colors according to the customer’s demand.

2. Product Characteristics

1). Super concentrated pigment paste with high pigment content: strong coloring power, better color showing and economical, is suitable for a variety of water-based paints coloring (including interior and exterior latex paints).

2). Excellent application performance, can be used for coloring a variety of water based systems with higher requirement (high weather resistance, high light fastness, high covering power), such as architectural coatings, industrial coatings, furniture paints and other specialty coatings. 

3). This series water based pigment paste is no-resin system pigment paste, can avoid non-compatibility problems happened between resin and resin. It has versatility of water-based systems, can be used for coloring a variety of water based paints, such as water-based decorative paints, latex paints and other coatings with aqueous alkyd、acrylic、polyurethane、 alkyd - acrylic、 epoxy、amino - alkyd、polyester resin and modified resins.

4). Good light fastness and weather resistance, to ensure the best performance of interior paints and etc.

5). Fine and uniform fineness, higher coloring power and complete chromatography.

3. Product Using Instructions

1). Please stir pigment paste before use; If some deposition appears after a long term storage, the products can be used through fully stirring and filtrating;

2). If finding that 8501 black pigment paste reacts with the thickening agent (presented flocculent), recommending to use 8503 Black pigment paste.

3). Red color and brown color would be easily cause discoloration when smaller adding amount, please pay more attention to it when using, and making small sample testing before mass production.

Bubble problem in the production of aqueous pigment paste

Because of adding of surfactant, the water based pigment paste is very easy to cause bubble, just like milk emulsion. During the opened dispersion, the dispersed machines that is high-speed grinding easily bring heat energy to the pigment paste, the bubble will made when air goes into the pigment paste liquid.

The bubble problem is a common phenomenon that always troubles pigment paste manufacturers in the production management. These bubble will lead that the pigment particles within the pigment paste can not be well cut and shattered, and resulting in poor dispersion and production efficiency of aqueous pigment paste. This will increase energy consumption, so it is bad thing.

Generally, there are three ways to solve the bubbles:
One, to add defoamer to change the surface tension of pigment paste. But Shanghai Caison pigment paste engineers will not easily add too much defoamers, because it may lead to pattern cracks when clients use pigment paste for textile printing,  especially in the poor absorption of paper coating.
Two, to eliminate the bubble through the mechanical ways, this technology is being explored by us.
Three, to prevent air from entering the containers of water based pigment paste, but also need to reduce too much heat generated during the pigment paste producing. We have already begun to try to use this method in the daily production.

By the way, we have to know that not all bubbles need to be destroyed.Such as coffee, nearly all people who like coffee know that Italian coffee and fancy coffee are needed to add foam rich milk, because foam milk can bring a mellow taste for coffee. The making of milk foam is similar with the happen principle of pigment paste bubble.
