Description of Spherical Bearings
Spherical bearing with spherical force, not force necking phenomenon, the effect on concrete reaction was
homogeneous; Spherical bearing by spherical teflon plate of the sliding bearing of the rotation process,
rotational torque is small, and rotational torque and pedestal only spherical radius and friction coefficient of
ptfe plate, has nothing to do with the bearing Angle size. So it is especially applicable to large Angle
requirement, design Angle can reach more than 0.05 rad. Support to the same rotation speed, is suitable
for wide bridge, curved bridge, etc.; Bearing no rubber bearing, there is no rubber aging effect on the
properties of bearing rotation, especially suitable for low temperature regions.
Advantages of Spherical Bearings

bearing rotation, especially suitable for low temperature regions.
Types of Spherical Bearings
Similar to pot bearing, spherical bridge bearings are available in fixed type, guided type and free sliding
types .
Fixed type bearing only allows for rotations, any longitudinal or transversal movement is restrained.
Guided type has edge steel guide to accommodate unidirectional movements.
Free sliding type bearing can slid in all directions.
Applications of Spherical Bearings
Ideal for structures with bearings of larges turning angles.
Bridges with big torsions.
Bridges in low temperatures lower than 30ºC.
Wide and curved bridges.
