Tunnel kiln is thermal equipment for long-term continuous production. The carbothermic reduction of iron ore takes place in the tunnel kiln. The reduction mix, consisting of coal or coke fine and limestone, is charged with iron ore briquette in Sic container. The materials are arranged in the form of concentric rings within a container. Containers are then stacked on one above the other. Arrays of such units are loaded above the kiln car by automatic charging system. The cars are then pushed through the tunnel kiln and going through preheating zone, reduction zone (1150°C-1200°C ) and cooling zone. The products are thus formed and unloaded by automatic discharging system. Because of concentric feeding of raw material inside the Sic container, products can be separated easily.
