Kaplan Water Turbine is widely used in hydro power plants with the low head from 1.5m to 15m.Design water flow from 0.5m3/Sto 60m3/S. they are included in runner, shaft, guide van and Governor. Installing capacity up to about 15000 kW for turbine. Normally it is a vertical shaft arrangement. But horizontal shaft arrangement is available to save civil works.
Complete range of specific speeds for runner design allows optimized matching to synchronous speed. Their SKF bearings rated for more than 100 000 hours of operation.
They are made in horizontal and vertical arrangement and only with the direct connection to the generator or with belt connection to the generator.
Runner and guide wheel regulation. Designed as a monoblock, and is used primarily in reconstructions of older plants.
Guide wheel performs the function of both the operational and closure system solved by gravity or pressure accumulator.
Installation is either with transfer belt or with a direct connection to the generator.
