Indications:

BenzathinePenicillin is primarily indicated in conditions like Acute otitis media,Bacterial infections, Diphtheria carriers, Gonorrhoea, Penicillin sensitiveinfections, Prophylaxis of rheumatic fever, Streptococal impetigo, Syphilis.

Contra-indications:

Benzathine Penicillin iscontraindicated in conditions like Seizures.

Adverse Effects:

The severe or irreversible adverseeffects of Benzathine Penicillin, which give rise to further complicationsinclude Urticaria, Allergic reactions, Serum sickness, Skin reactions.

Drug Interactions:

Benzathine Penicillin isknown to interact with other drugs like Chloramphenicol, Probenecid,Tetracycline (HCl).These interactions are sometimes beneficial and sometimesmay pose threats to life. Always consult your physician for the change of doseregimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.

Precautions & Warning:

Benzathinepenicillin should be used with caution in patients with medical history especiallyof any kidney disease, stomach or intestine diseases or allergies topenicillins or other antibiotics. Use with caution during pregnancy orlactation.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Soluble penicillin G is excreted intohuman milk. The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administeringbenzathine penicillin-procaine penicillin to nursing women.

Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:

Ifoverdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergencyroom immediately.

Storebelow 25 degrees celsius. Protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
