The maximum number of S800 I/O stations per bus is: 79 stations. Supported communication speed: 9.6 kbits/s to 12 Mbit/s. The maximum number of S800 I/O stations per bus segment is: 32 stations. The maximum number of I/O modules in a station is: 24 modules The maximum number of I/O modules per cluster is: 12 modules It is not allowed to physically install more than 12 MTUs and/or S800L modules in a cluster. Due to the PROFIBUS-DP specification it is not possible to always connect 24 I/O modules to one FCI. The reason is that the S800 I/O system includes more data and user parameters than PROFIBUS-DP can handle. Table 10 shows maximum number of I/O modules that can be connected to one CI830.
