I recently took a test drive in one of YOYOWHEEL’s long distance edition electric unicyle and toured its R&D labs, where it’s developing its battery and recharging technology. The experience left me believing that YOYOWHEEL has an important edge over its competitors in the race to bring electric PT(personal transporter) to the masses.

YOYOWHEEL’s lithium edition D1A mini self balance scooter is not a very cheap price (it ranges from $500 to over $900 ), but its range is 35 miles, more than 170% of segway’s  (20 kilometers ) or solo wheel. Within a few years, YOYOWHEEL hopes to produce much more affordable electric self balancing scooter —including one that costs $480—with a range similar to that of the lithium editon D1A. YOYOWHEEL also wants to make electric PT more practical by building a very fast power charger charging the e scooter that can deliver 35 miles in about 30 minutes—compared to several hours to charge an electric segway with a normal power charger who you can easily buy from the market.

For the test drive, I planned a drive from YOYOWHEEL’s headquarters in Guanming , Shenzhen, Guandong , China. then cruise down the Urban road to Longhua ,and Later, I’d head back north to the company for a testing tour, before returning the car to headquarters—the whole trip would intotally about 30 miles.
