Neutral Grounding Resistor

1.      Applications

The basic purpose of a Neutral GroundResistor is to limit the maximum electrical ground output to a safe value,protecting the generator and the other associated equipment without introducinga disproportionate download.

While the resistor may not be in constantuse, it protects all equipment from getting burned if there was a failure. Forthis reason, we provide electrical grade stainless steel in all our resistors,ensuring that even when temperature increases, the ohmic value will remain thesame.

Neutral grounding resistor are usuallyconnected to the neutral power transformer or generator, allowing a quick takeover of the failure to ground. The main benefit of the Neutral Ground Resistoris precisely its rapid and automatic ground loop isolation to a safe value,preventing any harm to the system or equipment.

2.      Mechanical characteristics

These banks of resistors are constructedunder strict quality control ensuring isolation, voltage and temperature.

The construction of this resistor is basedon galvanized steel by Angle-Dip or electrolyte plating, providing greater strengthand allowing safe transportation and installation without risking misalignment.

As the standard indicates, the resistiveelements are made of electrical grade stainless steel, mounted on a slab withhigh mechanical strength.

All the resistor components areauto-transported and assembled in store, being shipped as a complete unitwithout further need for later assembly.

Our voltage isolation system is based onceramic insulators. For optimal protection, there are well above the standards.

According to the voltage system, theresistors are sometimes mounted on four insulating posts adding extrainsulation and anchorage.

Finish

In order to prevent corrosion wheninstalled outdoors or in places along the coast, the finish is galvanizedeither by dipping or electroplating.

It is also coated with a protective screenagainst rodents and birds that may harm the piece and affect its functioning.
