Power Inverter and String Inverter

Although the inherent assumption in your argument is that AC module technology will stay as it is. My opinion is that for installations <30 kW, AC Module and power inverterrns you raise at a faster rate and to a greater degree than will string inverters. I appreciate your opinion and in the end the market will decide. I too wish for the subsidies to be gone so that the market, i.e. human ingenuity, can work it's magic.

AC modules. and their variants will be an interesting production to watch going forward....and as someone else has said...the US solar PV energy development scene is skewed a little at the moment with Congress and other sources of capital pouring money into various corporations etc. driving sometimes esoterical research.
But at the end of the day...we all need to keep our feet on the ground and head towards the most cost effective, and reliable product which will be useful on a global scale. Right now, around the world, string inverter technology is well refined even to the point of being a commodity...inverters tend to be circuit standardized now, run safely and in-spec without fans, and above all they are easily swopped out, if they require maintenance. more...
