By injecting powdered Ca-Si alloy into molten steel as inoculant the free Ni nodular graphite cast steel with the addition of low Cr and Mo content has been developed. Suitable amount of fine spheroidal graphite grains were precipitated in the as-cast state of the steel. The matrix consisting of fine pearlite and excess carbide in the lump and grain states may be obtained after heat treatment.
