This is the new replacement for the original BG-E2 grip (which is now discontinued) and is designed for the EOS-20D & 30D & 40D. The grip takes TWO Canon Re-chargeable batteries - (BP-511 / BP-511A) batteries or six AA size batteries.

The grip is also equipped with a vertical grip shutter button, dial, AE lock / FE lock button, and AF point selection button to enable shooting in the same fashion as a horizontal grip.
