6)Applications:
Electrical plastics and bakelite mold added with flame retardant;
Suitable for making the molds for various medium / high-grade electrical switches, sockets, chargers and electrical kettle seat;
Also used for making of the molds for plugs and inserts on computer camera and other precision instruments.
7) Characteristics:
440C is a high-chrome and molybdenum alloy abrasion-resistant and anticorrosive steel of high hardness for plastic mold. The content of chrome in the steel reaches 17% or higher, added with molybdenum alloy element, so that the steel has superior resistance to abrasion and good anticorrosion property as well. It is mostly suitable for electrical plastics, home appliances and bakelite mold added with flame retardant.
The steel also can be supplied in pre-hardened state (30-36HRC) and suitable for direct molding. Softened steel and special hardening heat treatment services may be provided according to the clients need.
