How it Works radial-shape wireless electric dog fence Both the Havahart Wireless Collar and the Controller contain nano LOC TRX 2.4 GHz transceiver chipsets that send and receive radio transmissions from their associated antenna pairs like 2-way radios. When radio signals are sent from the antennas of either component, they propagate in an omni-directional or spherical manner. The ranging process, continuously captures, filters and refines, data that yields the distance between the Havahart Wireless Collar and the Controller. This enables the system to track the real-time distance to your dog. Each component contains an advanced transceiver that enables constant communication with each component. Collar Correction radial-shape collar correction 400 feet - After a Havahart Wireless Collar has been added to they system and fitted to your dog; the Controller will track the real-time location of your dog as it moves around within the Roaming Area. The correction is not constant but is a repetitive pulse. Battery Status Monitoring--Communicates a low battery signal. [back to top] Key Definitions Roaming Area Roaming Area Trigger Zone - The Roaming Area of your Havahart Wireless dog fence is the area of your yard surrounded by the Trigger Zone where your dog is to roam and play safely. Trigger Zone The zone, which may be 6 to 13 feet wide, located at the edge of the Roaming Area. Correction is triggered by your dog crossing into the Trigger Zone. Correction can be set to Tone Only (auditory alarm) or static. Where the correction is delivered inside the Trigger Zone is influenced on the speed of your dog as he crosses the Trigger Zone. Attenuation Radial-Shape Attenuation - When the Trigger Zone is obstructed by an object, the resulting shape of the Trigger Zone can bow or dip inward. When this happens, the object between the Bases and the set Trigger Zone is said to attenuate the radio signal or the Trigger Zone. Likewise, the more dense an obstructing object is, the more sever the dip or shaping effect of the Trigger Zone.
