Axial (Thrust) needle roller bearings are units comprising axial needle rollers and cage assemblies and axial bearing washers with a centring spigot. Axial (Thrust) needle roller bearings are able to accommodate heavy axial loads. They are insensitive to shock loads and provide a high degree of bearing units stiffness within a minimum axial space. They represent unidirectional bearings and can accommodate axial loads acting in one direction only.
Using axial (thrust) needle roller bearings, it is possible to make compact bearing units. They will take up no more space than a conventional thrust washer, when the faces of adjacent machine components can serve as raceways for a set of thrust needle rollers with cage. In the cases when faces of adjacent machine components cannot serve as raceways, a set of thrust needle rollers with cage can be combined with washers of various designs.
Application:
Thrust roller bearings are mainly used for heavy-duty machine tools, power marine gear boxes, oil rig, electrical and other machinery in the vertical.
