The drum is according to ASTM D2940 issued by the American society of testing materials / 2940 m - 2009 standard design and manufacture, is used to measure temperature of coke crushing and wear resistant ability, the two is to determine the important index of coke mechanical strength.
The coke would be lifted up by the material lifting plate in the revolving drum and then fall onto the steel plate. During such process, the coke would collide and rub with each other under the mechanical force, which would result in the broken of the coke along with the crack and wearing of the coke surface.
