Auger String Sizes: It is most commonly paired with CFA auger strings ranging from $\varnothing$ 450 mm to 610 mm (and occasionally up to 630 mm). Larger setups (e.g., 770 mm or 880 mm augers) typically step up to the heavier 368 mm Bauer- coupling.
Rig Compatibility: Tools utilizing the 254 mm connector are built to match the torque envelopes of Bauer-BG-series rotary drilling rigs (like the BG 20 H, BG 24 H, or BG 28 H) and RTG multi-utility piling rigs (such as the RG 16 T, RG 19 T, and RG 21 T).

The 254 mm assembly consists of a male and female pair engineered for quick on-site connection and maximum structural rigidity under massive crowd and torque forces.

3. Application Variants

FDP Drill Pipes: Used on the extension stem above the displacement body to transfer high crowd forces and torque deep into the ground.
SMW Triple-Axis Paddles: Found on multi-shaft mixing augers (like the SMW 370 mm or 550 mm sets) to connect the driving stem to the rig's multi-gear box.
Operational Check: Always verify the seal integrity of the O-rings inside the 254 mm female socket prior to lowering the string. A damaged seal can allow pressurized concrete to bleed into the joint seams, jamming the locking mechanism and severely complicating tool teardown at the end of the shift.
