JRC-1 Rock Joint Roughness Coefficient Apparatus
(Tilt Test)
Characristics:
It is used to calculate the JRC of a rock or of a joint. The equipmen consists of an adjustable inclined plane,on which the rock sample (100mm dia.max)is placed, separeted along the surface where roughness is to be easure. Then the plane is slowly tilted until sliding of the upper part of the asmple on the lower one occuers. From the measured inclination angle it is possible to evaluate the roughness index.
