EPP material has lower heat conductivity and higher heat insulating than PE as heat insulation material, so it will be used as advanced heat insulating material in many fields. Furukawa Electric is using EPP material as heat insulating material of the copper pipe and rubber soft pipe in solar water heater. These heat insulating materials are used to connect solar heat collector, water pool and other devices. The water’s temperature in pipe can reach 100°C sometimes, and the temperature on the roof can reach 120°C sometimes. At the above circumstance, there are any other materials can meet this requirements except EPP. Besides, the heat insulating material of steam pipe comes to use EPP, and the heat insulating of air conditioner pipe comes to study on EPP’s usage. According to statistics, the production of air conditioner can reach 18260 thousand sets, so EPP will get a big market as the material of heat insulating pipes.
Due to high quality of heat tolerance, EPP has been widely used in many fields where EPE can not meet the demands, for example, the heat insulating material of heat carrier storage cell with 90--120°C, energy room’s and workshop’s heat insulating material and so on. In a word, EPP can be used in the occasions where EPS, EPE can not meet the demand.
