The gel coat using in the surface of FRP products, the function are:
1. Protection the FRP product: because with the gel coat layer on the surface, when the product in minor scratches will not damage the glass fiber reinforced materials;
2. Improve the chemical property and water resistance, the weak links with FRP product water resistance and chemical resistance is glass fiber. After making the product surface with gel coat, there is not fiber exposed on the product surface, avoids the fiber not directly contact with the water and other liquid media, to improve the water resistance and chemical resistance;
3. Improve the weather resistance: the weather resistance with gel coat is more excellent than normal resin, so when using in FRP product, it will improve the weather resistance with product.
4. Beautiful: the surface of FRP gel coat layer with high hardness, smooth property, it can cover the fiber traces.
