Mixing tank user’s guide
Mixing tanks have some different type, such as electric heating type and steam heating type.
Also, from the shape, they can divide into flat bottom tank, conical bottom tank, or slope bottom tank.
No matter what kind of tank it is, the way to use them are similar. Now, let’s talk about how to use them. Let’s talk on this steam heating conical bottom tank for example.
- The structure
Please have a look at this drawing below, we can see that there are three layers in it, the inner lay will contact your liquid material directly. Middle layer and the inner layer make a jacket. This jacket will allowed steam or hot water or other heating medium through. Between the middle layer and the out shell, there is an insulation layer, used for worm keeping.
- Heating
There are some pipes around the tank which will allow material and ingredient in and out. Also , you can see the inlet and out let of heating resource.
From the above drawing, we can see, N1 to N3 at the top of the tank, and C is a CIP cleaning ball.
N1 N2 and N3 can be used as material inlet, vent, spare hole,
N6 is the discharge pipe. This is easy to understand.
Now we pay special attention to N4 and N5.
Since this tank is heated by steam, or hot water or external hot oil, this two hole will be used differently according to the heating resource.
Situation A : use steam heating
When use steam heating, N4 will be the steam inlet pipe, and N5 will be the condensate water discharge hole.
Situation B: use hot water heating or external hot oil heating
When use hot water or hot oil, N5 will be the inlet and N4 should be overflow hole.
- Cooling
This tank can be used as a cooling tank, when cooling, you can contact the cooling water to the tank, use N5 as the inlet , and N4 will be the overflow hole.
- First time to use it
As a tank for the preparation of food and beverage, or other solution, you will need the tank 100% clean and safe for your solution. So, before you put your material in this tank, fill hot water to clean it up.
- After use it
When you finish one day’s work, please clean this tank with clean water, hot water will be better. Also, when you start to use it the next day, you’d better clean it again.
- Change to other liquid
Some time, we may use the same tank for different kind of solution. That is ok, but you are strongly suggested to clean the tank carefully to avoid pollution between different solutions.
- Safety of workers
When heating the tank, you use very high temperature steam or water, or oil. Although the tank was equipped with a insulation layer, you still need to wear a pair of glove to protect yourself from get hurt. And do not touch the surface of the tank without any protect of you hands.
