Clamp-On Thread Protector
MZS Clamp-On Thread Protector are essential when running tubing and casing. the Clamp-On Thread Protector effectively protects API adn equivelent threads by mechanically clamping a shock-resistant rubber to the pin end of the tubular.
MZS Clamp-On Thread Protector is manufacture using a sturdy nitrile rubber compound. The brownish-red bounceless compoud is easily recognized on the rigs and provides excellent shock, abrasion and tear resistance. Adding to the MZS protector's durability is its ease of use.
The "quick fit/release" design of the MZS thread protector has made it popular on rigs around the world. By merely moving the quick release locking the handle the MZS thread potector can be easily installed or removed. A special tension screw adjuster allows the operator to precisely adapt the I.D. of the protector for an adequate squeeze onto the thread. Once clamped on the casing/tubing pin the locking handle disappearsinside the body of the MZS thread protector.
Returning the MZS thread protector from the rig floor to the pipe rack is easily done by using catchline. The locking handle in the full open position and is simply hooked over the catchline, the slid down towords the pipe rack. To avoid damage to the protector a piece of softline is usually attanched at a convenient pick-up point near the bottom of the catchline to allow easy retriexal.
MZS Clamp-On Thread Protector are available in the following sizes: 3 1/2", 4", 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2", 6 5/8", 7", 7 5/8", 8 5/8", 9 5/8", 10 3/4", 11 3/4", 13 3/8", 16", 18 5/8", 20". MZS Clamp-On Thread Protector can be on all API and equivalent threads.
