Tube mills internals
A tube or horizontal mill is equipped with several items called tube mill internals such as: an inlet wall at its entrance, a liner (to protect its shell and give the media charge the requested effect), a diaphragm (to separate it in compartments) and an outlet wall at its end. A tube or horizontal mill is a cylindrical tube positioned horizontally on two supports and rotating. It can have different dimensions (length, width) and operating parameters (speed, rotation direction,…) to suit the particular application they are designed for (cement mills are different from mining mills for instance).

Lifting Liners ---Xlift ®
Key Benefits:
- Liner weight reduced by 7 to 20%, depending on mill diameter, as compared with traditional bolted step liner. Weight reduction is further increased as
compared to vaulted / boltless liner. - Increased safety thanks to lighter plates.
- Optimum grinding performance.
- Liner profile adapted to mill operating parameters allowing for optimized grinding efficiency.
- Reduced maintenance operations -> Reduced costs.
- Potential time and manpower savings during installation.
- Except for door plates and connecting plates (to feed end and diaphragm grates), all Xlift® plates are available from stock.
For these special plates, standard leadtime is reduced by 4 weeks as compared to a traditional step liner
Classifying Liners ---Xclass ®
Key Benefits:
- Liner weight reduced by 20 to 35% depending on mill diameter. E.g. for a mill in the 4.4 to 4.6m diameter range, weight is reduced by 465 to 310kg/m².
- Xclass® allows for an increase in useful diameter of mill, ranging from 40 to 76mm depending on mill diameter. As a consequence, ball load may increase by 0.9 to 2.5 tons per meter of EGL (Effective Grinding Length), which, in turn leads to an increase in absorbed power.
