Conventional Dryer

1.The rotary dryer is a type of industrial dryer employed to reduce or minimize the liquid moisture content of the material, which is handling by bringing it into direct contact with a heated gas. Rotating Cylinder Dryer   Rotating Cylinder Dryer  

2.The dryer is made up of a large, rotating cylindrical tube, usually supported by concrete columns or steel beams. The dryer slopes slightly so that the discharge end is lower than the material feed end in order to convey the material through the dryer under gravity.

3.Material to be dried enters the dryer, and as the dryer rotates, the material is lifted up by a series of internal fins lining the inner wall of the dryer. When the material gets high enough to roll back off the fins, it falls back down to the bottom of the dryer, passing through the hot gas stream as it falls. This gas stream can either be moving toward the discharge end from the feed end (known as co-current flow), or toward the feed end from the discharge end (known as counter-current flow). 4.The gas stream can be made up of a mixture of air and combustion gases from a burner, in which case the dryer is called a direct heated dryer. Alternatively, the gas stream may consist of air or another (sometimes inert) gas that is preheated.

Three-pass Dryer

1.Screw conveyor send the 30-40% moisture saw dust into the first layer of the rotary dryer, to realize the downstream drying, the saw dust realize the heat exchange by spiraled in the first layer, to pre-evaporation of the moisture.

2.When the saw dust moved to the end of the first layer, will drop into second layer reverse move, the saw dust will be move up and drop down by the shoveling plate, and keep repeating during then whole trip in the second layer, the saw dust can fully absorb the heat coming from the inner and outer pipe, also prolong the drying time, the saw dust will get the best drying state.

3.The saw dust which is reached the moisture requirement will be goes through the dryer very fast by with the hot wind, the others saw dust because it’s not reached the requirement, it’s too heavy can be moved by the hot air, will still move in the third layer, and goes into the drying tank, by the hot air working, to be dried, and finish the whole drying process.three-pass dryer
