2.Functions of furfural:

a. Furfural can be made into:  maleic acid, maleic anhydride, fumaric acid, succinic acid, furoic acid, furfuryl alcohol, tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, methyl furan, methyltetrahydrofuran, dihydrogen arsenic furans, etc.

b. Using furfural can produce hundreds of medicine, pesticide, veterinary drug, such as cellocidin, karp dan, furacilin, furpromide, furazolidone, furan catalyst, etc.

c. In the production of synthetic resin, furfural can be used for producing furfuryl alcohol resin, furfural acetone resin, furfuryl alcohol modified urea formaldehyde resin.

d. Furfural usually can be used as selective solvent, used for refining lubricating oil, butadiene, beef tallow, petroleum and others

e. Except the above uses, furfural also can be used for fuel, chemical reagent, all kinds of auxiliaries, such as thiofide, antioxidant, anticorrosive, plastic and rubber antioxidant, food sweetening agent, spice, etc.
