Seabuckthorn is a medicinal food containing vitamins, trace elements, amino acids and other biologically active substances. With a long history of more than two hundred million years on earth, this plant can survive in the harsh environment of the desert and alpine mountains. It is the only plant growing in the area of feldspathic sandstone called the cancer of the Earth, a plant growing in pollute-free environment and called the VC King in the world of plants. It is the most ecologically valuable in the large-scale development of the western region in China. It is recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia and pharmacopoeias in other parts of the world, and recognized as a medicinal and edible plant by the China’s Ministry of Health.
In seabuckthorn, the oil is a main factor to provide cosmetological values. It contains rich vitamins E, A, flavonoids and SOD that effectively prevent free radicals so as to giving anti-aging effect. Thus, seabuckthorn is a kind of high-grade important raw material in cosmetics industry. Seabuckthorn oil for cosmetic purposes from advanced processes of extraction features high purity and efficacy and is mainly used as a functional ingredient in the cream, for example, Seabuckthorn Neroli Repair Organic Cream in Magic Care in Switzerland.
