Introduction:
Pterostilbene/ Trans-Pterostilbene is a polyphenol that occurs naturally in blueberries, cranberries, sparkleberries, lingonberries, and grapes,which is also called the next generation resveratrol. Blueberries are one of the most readily-available sources of pterostilbene and are typically available year round. Pterostilbene has a high level of bioavailability and offers similar protective effect of resveratrol.
Compared with resveratrol (also phytoalexin but found in grapes), Pterostilbene has the significant advantages in Much improved bio-availability, much longer presence in the body, greater oral absorption and metabolic stability. So Pterostilbene is also called the next generation resveratrol.
Functions:
