Introduction:
Pterostilbene is a polyphenol that occurs naturally in blueberries, cranberries, sparkleberries, lingonberries, and grapes. Blueberries are one of the most readily-available sources of pterostilbene and are typically available year round. Pterostilbene has a high level of bioavailability and offers similar protective effect of resveratrol, and no side effects.
Compared with resveratrol (also phytoalexin but found in grapes), Pterostilbene has the significant advantages in Much improved bio-availability, much longer presence in the body, greater oral absorption and metabolic stability. So Pterostilbene is also called the next generation resveratrol.
Functions:
