HIMALAYAN White tea:

This precious HIMALAYAN White Tea comes from an "imperial plucking" which is done at dawn only two days a year. The flavour is delicate, slightly sweet and refreshing. Considered one of the best teas in the world. Tea connoisseurs consider Himalayan Silver Needles tea one of the rarest and most expensive varieties of teas. Silver Needle White Tea was ranked second among the Ten Famous Teas of Darjeeling in 1978 by The Tea Board of India. It again achieved high ranking in 1986 and 1990.  Today, Silver Needle White Tea is enjoyed worldwide.

It is a very special kind of tea. It is handpicked, hand rolled and sun dried. Pure ultra premium whole leaf teas harvested from the world's most exclusive tea gardens based at above 7000 feet above the sea level.

Manufacturing HIMALAYAN White Tea:

The base process for manufacturing white tea is as follows:

Fresh tea leaf → Withering → Drying (air drying, solar drying or mechanical drying) → White tea.

White tea belongs to the group of tea that does not require panning, rolling or shaking. However, the selection of raw material in white tea manufacture is extremely stringent; only the plucking of young tea leaves with much fine hair can produce good-quality white tea with lots of pekoe.

Contents:

White tea (along with other teas) is derived from the Camellia sinensis plant and contains polyphenols, a phytonutrient that is thought to be responsible for the tea’s health benefits. White tea contains higher portion of buds, which are covered with fine Silver pubescence that impart a light white / grey color to the tea. White tea brews to a pale yellow infusion and has a slightly sweet flavor. White tea belongs to the group of tea that does not require panning, rolling or shaking. However, the selection of raw material in white tea manufacture is extremely stringent; only the plucking of young tea leaves with much fine hair can produce good-quality white tea with lots of pekoe.

Health Benefits:

Like black and green tea, white tea is also derived from Camellia sinensis. Thus, white tea shares many of the same chemical properties and health effects of tea. However, white tea contains the most antioxidants. The particular amount and ratio of the polyphenol compounds found in tea varies widely from one type of white tea to another, frequently overlapping with chemical compositions found in green tea. This is due both to the variation between strain of Camellia sinensis, as well as the preparation process itself. These compounds have been shown to protect against certain types of cancer both in vitro and in vivo.
