Product Introduction:
1-MCP preservative is the idealest inhibitor for ethylene; it is wildly used as fresh-keeping agent in agriculture industry by growers, packers, and shippers to maintain the quality of fruits and vegetables by preventing or delaying the natural ripening process.
Main Function:
1. Reduce respiration, delay ripening and senescence. |
2. Keep the original flavor for longer time. |
3. Prolong the storage and shelflife. |
4. Increase disease resistance, decrease evaporation,lighten the decay causing by physiological disease and microorganism. |
Mode of Actions:
It can extend the postharvest storage and shelf life effectively, especially for such fruits, vegetables, and flowers which are sensitive to ethylene.
Dosages:
The dosage of 1-MCP sachet depends on the fruits and vegetables package volume for each carton or each bag. For example: Apple preservation, put 1 sachet in each standard box whose package volume is 10 kg -15 kg. (The volume is 0.055 - 0.06m3 max.). 1g 1-MCP 3.5% WP can effect for 15 cubic meters Refrigeration House.

How does 1-MCP work?
Appearance of avocado mesocarp in control, ethylene-treated, and 1-MCP-treated seeded avocado fruit cvs Ettinger and Arad and seedless fruit cv. Arad stored for 4 weeks at 5 °C followed by 4 d at 20 °C. 1-MCP (150 nl l−1) or ethylene (10 μl l−1) treatments were given for 18 h at 20 °C prior to storage.
Conclusion:
1-MCP treatment effectively prevented mesocarp discoloration during cold storage and subsequent
shelf-life in both seeded and seedless fruit (Fig. 2). CI development in control avocado fruit has been
shown previously to be increased by ethylene exposure prior to cold storage (Pesis et al., 2002).
Delay of internal discoloration in avocado fruit by 1-MCP treatment has also been reported (Pesis et
al., 2002; Hershkovitz et al., 2005; Woolf et al., 2005).
Precausion:
1) The harvest time should be at an appropriate maturity of crops. The preservative processing should be as soon as possible,the sooner, the better effect you would get. When the maturity is too high, using this product for treatment is not recommended. |
2) After put the 1-MCP into the freshing keeping bags, it would volatilize 1- MCP gas and play a role in preservation in a short time.
After the treatment with 1MCP, the sensitivity to carbon dioxide of treated products will increase, so the carbon dioxide content in the storage environment should be kept lower. |
3) Seal the package of this product, do not open the package if don’t use it. Use it up as soon as possible after opened the package.If you are not going to finish it in time,you should tie the bag immediately and store it in a cool, dry place. |
4) This product should not be taken orally, and children are forbidden to contact. |
5) Sealed , placed in the cool dry place. |
