What is Konbucha?

Konbucha is Japanese traditional soup from Edo era. And we made it into instant soup.

(Different from Ko”m”bucha, a fermented drink.)

 

Konbucha is made with umami rich kombu. Japanese drink Konbucha like tea or coffee at teatime or any time.

 

Recently, people use Konbucha as condiment because it can easily add salty taste and umami. Our Konbucha is used at: deli in supermarkets, convenient stores / Japanese restaurants / Spaghetti restaurants / Ramen restaurants / and others.

Usage

1. As a soup

Just put 2g of Konbucha into a cup and pour 100ml hot water. It’s done.

 

2. Use as a seasoning

Konbucha is rich in umami and brings out the flavor of ingredients.

 

Instead of salt

The simplest way is using Konbucha instead of salt. You can easily add saltiness and Umami.

 

Instead of dashi (Japanese soup stock)

Kombu is used extensively in Japanese cuisines as one of the main ingredients needed to make dashi. But the process of extracting dashi takes time and care.

Since Konbucha contains salt and umami from kombu, you can substitute Konbucha for dashi.
