Alnico is an acronym referring to a family of iron alloys which in addition to iron are composed primarily of aluminium (Al), nickel (Ni) and cobalt (Co), hence al-ni-co. They also include copper, and sometimes titanium. Alnico alloys are ferromagnetic, with a high coercivity and are used to make permanent magnets.
Alnico is high magnetic flux density, resistance to corrosion and excellent temperature stability, the maximum working temperature up to 600C.
Shape
Alnico can be made into intricate and complex shapes, which is not possible with other magnetic materials.
Commonly used shapes include Horseshoe, Disc, Cylinder, Block, Ring, Countersunk, Segment, Trapezoid, Irregular shapes and more.
Customized Design (Design proper magnets for clients specific requirements)
Coating
Ni-Cu-Ni, Nickel, Zn, Gold, Silver, Copper, Epoxy, Chemical, PTFE, Parylene, Everlube, and Passivation.
Applications
Widely used in industrial and consumer applications where strong permanent magnets are needed; examples are electric motors, electric guitar pickups, microphones, sensors, loudspeakers, traveling-wave tubes, and cow magnets.
Cast Alnico magnet is widely used in all kinds of sensors and meters, electronics, instruments, medical instruments, teaching, automobile, aviation, martial and other applications
