Floating staircases are usually very elegant, stylish and minimalist. They are perfect for modern interiors and for those people who like to live on the edge. Sometimes they have railings on the side, sometimes they haven’t. Ones that haven’t are defenitely dangerous so they could be used only if you haven’t kids. This minimalist steel staircase links the living room in the French flat to the owner’s private space underneath the roof. flat. It’s designed by Ecole.
This stylish floating staircase connects ground floor and private spaces in Iporanga House designed by Arthur Casas Studio.
Inspired by rippling ribbon this staircase was designed by HSH Architects. It’s constructed from 10mm thick sheet metal. Pairs of adjoining steps connected with an oblique external side joist form a bracket anchored in the wall. Each of the brackets is constructed as a rigid frame. The higher steps bear mainly drawing forces, while pressure is transmitted through the lower steps.
This sculptural floating staircase is designed by Jordivayreda Projectteam. Each stair is made of 100mm thick steel and welded to a 250mm thick beam. The staircase is 65 cm wide and it can support 200k, consequently we get the minimal flexion.
